About the Role:
This role will provide an important “bridge” and act as a connector between high-level strategic governance and practical, on-ground community empowerment.
The Coordinator will support the Business Manager – Climate Change and Renewable Energy in translating policy and commercial initiatives into clear, culturally relevant information for the Council of Elders and the Board of Directors, ensuring that Yorta Yorta Nation’s leadership and voice is a key driver of climate strategy.
About You:
You are passionate about protecting Aboriginal cultural heritage and have strong experience working within this space along with:
- Demonstrable previous experience in a Coordination or Engagement role.
Note: Significant relevant work experience in an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) will be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- Ability to produce professional documents and draft clear, persuasive content that translates technical information into accessible and culturally appropriate narratives.
- Proven experience in facilitating inclusive processes that empower community members.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to communicate confidently with stakeholders.
- Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to determine priorities.
- Proactive in seeking direction from leadership to ensure your focus remains aligned with YYNAC’s strategic goals while managing a diverse set of responsibilities.
- A willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute within a fast‑paced project environment.
- Knowledge of the Yorta Yorta Whole-of-Country Plan 2021–2030 (Desirable).
